The remains of the former
Kaduna State Governor,
Patrick Ibrahim Yakowa
arrived Kaduna Airport
yesterday amid
uncontrollable tears.
Yakowa died at the weekend
when a Navy helicopter
carrying him and four
others, crashed at Nembe,
Bayelsa State.
The corpse, wrapped with
the national flag of green,
white, green, arrived at
Kaduna Airport at exactly
2.40pm in a C-130 Air Force
plane with registration
number CAG
Yakowa's corpse arrived
with the corpse of a top
politician, Dauda Tsoho, who
also died in the crash.
Family members of the
deceased, the new governor
of the state, Mukhtar
Ramalan Yero, National
Assembly members, service
chiefs, religious leaders,
traditonal rulers and
politicians were all at the
airport to receive the
corpses.
Speaking on Yakowa's death,
his Special Adviser on Media,
Reuben Buhari, said even in
death, his late boss
represented the platform for
peace, unity and
development, which he
always preached when he
was the governor of the
state." Yakowa might have
died, but his legacies and
strong commitmnet to
serving humanity will
continue to linger on,"
Buhari stated.
